LCC-London Fire Brigade. Kensington fire station
Located in Old Court Place near Kensington Church Street, Kensington fire station retained a horse drawn turntable ladder until 1921 when it was finally replaced by a motorised version. It was the Brigades last remaining horse-drawn fire engine. The picture shows Kensingtons appliance room, prior to that date, with the horses in their stalls and the fire engines in readiness for the next call. In the corner is the station watchroom with a man sitting at the desk. Date: 1905
