Framed Print of RMS Titanic - Maria Robinson's gold memorial medal
RMS Titanic - property of Maria Robinson, fiancee of Wallace Hartley, bandleader and violinist, who died in the disaster. A 9 carat gold round medallion, unnamed, with hallmarks for Birmingham 1912, sponsor's mark W.J.D for William James Dingley. The medal with a yellow gold surmount cast and chased with twin scrolls, the front of the rose gold round panel with a decorative border in the form of a ribbon-tied bow and laurel leaves and hand-engraved at the centre The Colne W. H. Hartley Memorial Medal, the plain back hand-engraved Awarded to, left blank. The medallion measures 1 1/4ins. diameter, 1 3/4ins. high overall and 3/4ins. deep and weighs 8.3 grams. Plus a silver mounted pale blue silk ribbon for a medal, the top with a plain silver bar and a base metal pin suspension with London hallmarks for 1912 and the sponsor's mark GK ands for George Kenning and Son. The bottom designed as an open pierced and scroll carved bar with partial hallmarks comprising the leopard's head for London, the lion passant for 925 standard and the sponsor's mark GK ands for George Kenning and Son. The whole item measures approximately 2 inches high overall and 1.5 inches wide. Date: 1912. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
