Streamlined Piece by David Wright, featuring a woman wearing a pale blue evening dress leaning against a chair. Wright produced a series of over 160 illustrations or 'pin-ups' for 'The Sketch' during the 1940's. David Wright's 'Lovelies' proved hugely popular and adorned practically every military mess, bunker, dormitory or club room in the country during World War II.

Collins, Jose

Jose Collins (23 May 1887 6 December 1958) was an English actress and singer. Her most famous role was the lead in the musical the Maid of the Mountains in which she played the title role of Teresa, the gypsy bandit maid. Here it is her appearance as a solo artist at The Olympia in Liverpool (on 29th September 1917 or 1918) which is being advertised. The artist is AINX, drawn from a photo by Foulsham and Banfield, Ltd. Date: 1917 or 1918
