Handley Page HPR. 7 Dart-Herald G-AODE

Handley Page HPR.7 Dart-Herald G-AODE (msn 1), the first prototype Herald, seen during a photo-shoot rendezvous with an HP Victor and HP Hastings photographic aircraft on 30th August 1958m en-route to the 1958 Farnborough Air-show. Shortly after this photo was taken the starboard RR Dart turboprop engine's turbine exploded. The aircraft was set on fire and the starboard engine fell off. The pilot made a very skilful forced landing saving all on board, including his wife who was a passenger. Date: 1958
