Photograph showing a Soviet heavy tank moving through Berlin, with the Brandenburg Gate in the background, May 1945. Berlin fell to the Russian Army on 2nd May 1945, after a battle which lasted 17 days. Given the demeanour of the men riding on the tank, it is safe to assume that this photograph was taken after the German capitulation

Royal Air Force de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk.XVIII PZ467 Tse-Tse. Armed with a 57mm (6 pounder) Molins quick-firing gun, the first Mk.XVIII was flown on 25 August 1943. Twenty-seven were built seeing some action from 4 November 1943. At least one U-boat fell victim to the Tse-Tses cannon on 25 March 1944, but structural problems due to recoil limited their usefulness and lost favour with the advent of the RP-3 rockets (60-lb er). Date: circa 1944

Promotional postcard for Sealed Orders by Cecil Raleigh and Henry Hamilton. First produced Drury Lane Theatre, 11th September 1913. The play is a scenic spectacle: on-stage battleship; a struggle to the death in an "air-ship". A reviewer of the time wrote: "A genuine Drury Lane drama! A play of incident, of striking situations and amazing scenic effects! No one should miss it." The quarrelling villains , locked in a death struggle, fall out of the airship. For the Hutchison Co. touring to Opera House, Northampton, 10th May 1915 Date: 1915
