A motorised Hatfield-type fire engine. The London Fire Brigade was introducing motorised fire engines and the last horse-drawn appliance (a turntable ladder) would be withdrawn in 1921. The adoption of motorised fire engines would lead to the closure of many fire stations which had used horse-drawn engines. Date: early 20th century
