Grumman F6F-5K Hellcat 93879
Grumman F6F-5K Hellcat N4994V (msn A-11631, ex BuAer number 93879), a former United States Navy radio-controlled drone target, on display at the Air Museum, Lancaster California, on 28 May 1965. Collided with Cessna 182H N8567S in circuit at Parker, AZ on 11 January 2003; the Cessna crashed but the F6F landed safely. Crashed into power lines on 8 October 2005 in Monterey, TN, fell to the ground, and burst into flames, killing the pilot. Date: 1965
