Suffragette Votes for Women Pepper Pot

A silver suffragette pepper pot or muttineer a small pot with a removable lid - the head of the figure. Holes in the bonnet dispense pepper or sugar. The figure is of a woman wearing a poke bonnet and ribbon, and carrying a sandwich board. On one side are the words, Votes for Women, whilst the other states, We Can Make Things Hot For You. The piece was made by Saunders & Shepherd ltd. and bears a Chester hallmark for 1908. Date: 1908
