Portraits of various campaigners for womens rights, who led a Suffragist Procession on 13 June 1908 from the Embankment to the Albert Hall: Charlotte Despard (Leader of the Womens Freedom League), Lady Henry Somerset (who delivered a speech at the Albert Hall), the Rev Dr Anna Howard Shaw (Leader of the American Suffragists), Mrs Israel Zangwill (writer), Lady Frances Balfour (President of the London Union for Womens Suffrage), Miss Beatrice Harraden (writer), Miss Cicely Hamilton (playwright), Dr Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (first woman physician), Mrs Ayrton (electrical engineer), and Mrs Alfred Lyttelton (playwright). They are pictured together with banners commemorating heroic women throughout the ages, including Boadicea, St Teresa, Angelica Kaufmann, Sarah Siddons and Queen Victoria. Date: 1908
