Royal Air Force - Hunting Jet Provost T. 4 XP680
Royal Air Force Hunting Jet Provost T.4 XP680 (msn PAC/W/18304) of The Macaws aerobatic team from the College of Air Warfare, based at Royal Air Force Manby. XP680 first flew on 12 October 1962, was delivered on 05 November 1962 to the College of Air Warfare. When withdrawn from use, XP680 was given the instructional serial 8460M and allocated to Moreton-in-Marsh Fire Training College.. In 1965 the College of Air Warfare, based at Royal Air Force Manby, formed a Jet Provost T.4 aerobatic display team named The Magistrates. The team was renamed following the end of the 1967 season; from 1968 the team becoming The Macaws - from the first letters of the Unit, MAnby College of Air Warfare. The Macaws visited foreign countries like Germany and France in 1973, but unfortunately this was the last year for the team. Date: circa 1971
