Kaman K-125B N60377 - NX60377
Kaman K-125B N60377 / NX60377 (msn 1). The first helicopter designed and built by (Charles H) Kaman Aircraft Corp, Bradley Field, Windsor Locks CT. as the Kaman K-125, powered by a 4-cylinder horizontally-opposed Lycoming O-290. Fitted with a more powerful 6-cylinder Lycoming engine (150hp O-350 or 175 hp O435), the aircraft became the K-125B and was progressively transformed to have a smooth-skinned plywood fuselage pod. Two more similar helicopters were produced with more powerful piston engines, (K-190 and K-225), one of which was fitted with a Boeing 502 (YT50) turbo-shaft engine to become the first gas-turbine powered helicopter in the world. Date: 1947
