Royal Wedding Presents at St Jamess Palace
A general view of the magnificent array of presents in the main salon, one of the three rooms in St. Jamess Palace to which the public were admitted. The gifts were given on the occasion of the wedding of Prince George, Duke of Kent to Princess Marina of Greece at Westminster Abbey on 29 November 1934. Altogether there were nearly a thousand gifts, guarded day and night by specially picked detectives. Among the donors were European and Asiatic Kings, Queens and Princes, disabled soldiers, servants on the Balmoral estate, corporations, guilds and members of the Services. Date: 1934
