Balloon built at Versailles
A balloon built at Versailles, France, and put on display there on a platform. It was 60 feet high and 40 feet in diameter, in blue and gold material. A sheep was placed in the cage, and an ascent took place in front of the King and Royal Family. The balloon later descended in Paris, in the Carrefour Marechal, Bois de Vaucresson, near the Chemin aux Boeufs.
