ICONS OF THE 20th CENTURY: Duke and Duchess of Windsor collection: A rare open-face souvenir watch, to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII, Swiss, circa 1935 nickel lever movement, black matte and gilt dial, the reverse with a gilt medallion representing the bust of Edward VIII in profile facing to the right in Coronation robes, inscribed Edward VIII King & Emperor. Diameter 1⅜ins. (3.5 cm.) Note: crystal not original to the watch, with slip case. Ex-Duke and Duchess of Windsor Sotheby's auction Lot no 239. Date: circa 1935
