Artefacts from the excavation from Tel-El-Obeid excavation in Ur of the Chaldean, which were on show in the British Museum. Ur of the Chaldeans, is a city mentioned in the Hebrew Bible as the birthplace of the Israelite and Ismaelite patriarch Abraham. Tell al-'Ubaid is a low, relatively small tell (settlement mound) west of nearby Ur in southern Iraq's Dhi Qar Governorate. Artefacts such as the mother-of-pearl porch pillar, pottery flowers, clay urn, carved ox and a model of thrown are seen here. Date: 1925
