Holborn Schools Band
Boys brass band at Holborn Schools, Mitcham. The boys are posed in uniform with instruments. A large carriage is visible behind. The Schools, originally established in 1856, provided accommodation, education and industrial training for pauper children away from the main workhouse. The band, which performed at local functions, led to a career for some as military bandsmen. Date: 1906
