St Katharines Hospital
Engaving depicting St Katharines Hospital in 1781. Around 1148 Matilda, wife of King stephen, established a hospital in the parish of St. Botolph without Aldgate near the Tower of London for a master, brethren, sisters, and thirteen poor persons. It would later become the Royal Hospital and Collegiate Church of St. Katharine by the Tower. Date: 1781
