A Royal Yacht of 1674 by G. H. Davis
A diagrammatic reconstruction painting of a royal yacht owned by King Charles II, one of two presented to him by the Dutch when he was restored to the throne. Parts of the deck are diagrammatically removed to reveal the luxurious appointments of the interior. The artist, G. H. Davis, drew the reconstruction by referring to the famous model in the Royal Naval College at Greenwich (claimed to represent the Catharine, constructed by Phineas Pett at Chatham in 1674).
