Prince George, later Duke of Kent by Cyril Roberts
HRH Prince George, Duke of Kent (1902 - 1942), fourth son of George V and Queen Mary. Despite a military education, he became the first member of the Royal family to work for the Civil Service. In 1938, he married Princess Marina of Greece with whom he had three children. Often considered the most intelligent of George Vs children, the outbreak of World War II prevented him from taking up the post of Governor-General of Australia. He was tragically killed on active service, when his Sunderland boat plane, en route to Iceland, crashed into a mountainside in Northern Scotland Portrait by Cyril Roberts. 10x8 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexi glass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
