Polar exploration in 1908 on the front cover of The Sphere, showing Dr. Frederick A. Cook setting-up camera equipment to take a photograph of an igloo with the United States of Americas flag with two Eskimos companisions, Etukishook and Ahwelsh. The claims that the North Pole was discovered by Cook, an American explorer who reached the North Pole in April 1908, but he was unable to produce convincing proof and his claim are not widely accepted.
