Machnow the Giant & Madame Chiquita, London Hippodrome
Machnow, the Russian giant, pictured in the arena of the London Hippodrome with his manager, and his co-star, the eighteen inch high Madame Chiquita. Machnow was allegedly 9 3" high but he was probably more likely to be 7 10" (still impressive), his fur hat adding considerably to his height. Date: 1902
