Alsatian peasant woman of Kochersberg, 19th century
Alsatian peasant woman in festival costume, Kochersberg, 19th century. Her bonnet and bodice are embroidered with silver thread. The black cravat is traditional to the town. The red petticoat was worn on festival days. She carries a large straw hat to wear over her toque. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
