Jewish Samaritan High Priest and Scroll
Samaritan High Priest and the Old Abisha Pentateuch. The Samaritan Pentateuch, sometimes called Samaritan Torah is a version of the Hebrew language Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible, traditionally written in the Samaritan alphabet and used by the Samaritans. It constitutes their entire biblical canon. Samaritans attach special importance to the Abisha Scroll used in the Samaritan synagogue of Nablus - pictured on this card. Date: circa 1910s
