Charles I playing golf at Leith receives news of rebellion
King Charles I, playing golf at Leith, Scotland, receives news of the Irish rebellion which marked the beginning of the Irish Confederate Wars in October 1641. Apparently this did not prevent him from finishing his round. (The story may be a later fabrication.)
