The first German Standard captured by the French is displayed in the window of the Ministry of War on the Rue St Dominique, Paris. The flag, of the German 132nd infantry regiment, was captured by the 10th battalion of Chasseurs ࠰ ied at St Blaise in Alsace. The forecourt of the Ministry is guarded by soldiers to hold back the enthusiastic crowd that has gathered outside. Date: August 1914
