Violet Manners (nee Lindsay), Duchess of Rutland (1856 - 1937), British artist and noblewoman, wife of Henry John Brinsley Manners, 8th Duke of Rutland. Pictured in a particularly artistic pose during the First World War when she was appealing for a motor car suitable for carrying passengers or goods for the hospital she had recently opened at Hardelot Castle near Boulogne. Date: 1915
