Wedding of the Duke of Westminster & Loelia Ponsonby
Page from The Tatler reporting on the society wedding of Hugh Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster and Loelia Ponsonby (his third wife) at Prince's Row registry office on 20 February 1930. Pictures show the Duke and his new bride leaving from Westminster Pier on a speedboat. From there they boarded the Duke's converted torpedoe destroyer, the Cutty Sark which waited at Deptford to convey them on their yachting honeymoon. The fur coat worn by Loelia was one of the Duke's many wedding presents to her. The couple, who never had children, divorced in 1947 after years of separation.
