This image shows the reservoir illuminated for the officially opening by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) in April that year. The drainage works at Crossness (now also known as Crossness Pumping Station)were built by Sir Joseph Bazalgette as part of Londons drainage scheme. Date: 15 April 1865
