St Jamess Street by Reginald G. Eves (1876-1941), one of two paintings by Eves which had been accepted by the Royal Academy for the Summer Exhibition and then withdrawn as the works in question were discovered to have a photographic basis. Pictures of this nature were not admissible to the Academy Exhibition at the time. The other picture was of Venice. Date: C.1930
