LADY PAMELA SMITH (1915 - 1982), younger daughter of the 1st earl of Birkenhead. In 1936 she married Hon. William Michael Berry, Baron Hartwell, and was later styled Baroness Hartwell. Dressed here as Camargo, the Spirit of the Dance, as the Masked Eighteenth Century Costume Ball at the Austrian Legation in aid of the Austrian Winter Distress League and British Charities.
