The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy and M Barstow
Promotional postcard for The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy and M. Barstow (her husband). First produced at the New Theatre, St Martins Lane 5th January 1905. The bust-length portraits on the vase are of Fred Terry and Julia Neilson, who created the parts of Sir Percy and Lady Blakeney. Sir Percy, of course, an apparently effete society figure, is the mysterious Scarlet Pimpernel, who rescues French aristocrats from the guillotine Date: 1905
