Red Indian Chief and wife, Eastbourne, Sussex

Edward Blackmore, an Eastbourne plumber, with his wife Phyllis, both of them adopted members of the North American Sioux Indian Tribe. In 1964 Edward travelled to South Dakota to meet the tribe, and during his visit he was made a Chief. He became an international expert on the tribe since first becoming fascinated by the subject in 1919. Seen here in Native American Indian costume, standing in the street. Date: 1967
