The Girl in the Taxi by F Fenn and A Wimperis

Promotional postcard for The Girl in the Taxi adapted by Frederick Fenn & Arthur Wimperis from Die Keusche Susanne (Wilhelm-Theater, Magdeburg, 26/2/1910) by George Okonkowski; music Jean Gilbert. Artist: Barribal. First produced at the Lyric Theatre, 5th September 1912. The story begins with a man and a woman, both married, who flag the same taxi and then decide to share it, as they have the same restaurant destination. Various naughty supper rendezvous, and much hiding under tables or behind screens, ensue. This image is from the Garrick Theatre revival, 23rd January 1915 Caption: He: My cab, I think. She: Mine, I believe. He: Ours, I hope. Date: 1915
