Hermeswiese Settlement, Vienna, Austria
The Hermeswiese Settlement (Siedlung Hermeswiese), designed as a garden city, was created in cooperation with the municipality of Vienna with the cooperative " Altmannsdorf-Hetzendorf". It was built (in 1923/24) according to plans by Architect Karl Ehn (1884-1959), the Vienna construction company Muhlbauer and the settlers themselves, who had to contribute at least 1, 000 unpaid, voluntary working hours. Date: circa 1925
