People's March for Jobs 1983
150, 000 people from all over Britain, gather in Battersea Park at the culmination of the People's March for Jobs. The march, organised by the Trades Union Congress, had set off with a core of 50 marchers from Glasgow on 23 April, and had become 500 strong by the time it reached London. On 5th June, the National Demonstration marched from Battersea Power Station to Hyde Park for a final rally. Date: 5 June 1983
