The walls of one of the temples at Humpi, Madras, India, showing the bas-reliefs ( a type of sculpture which has less depth in the faces and figures, allowing viewing from multiple angles). This temple complex is one of the oldest in India, from around the 12th Century, and is now a UNESCO world heritage site. It was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 14th Century. Date: 1885
