Sailors swab the decks after refuelling their ship
Sailors, many in bare feet, clean the decks after coal has been put into the hold. Coal was known by the sailors as black diamonds, because the admiralty specification called for expensive coal on ships. Much soap and water is needed to clean the planks. Date: 1916
