Women waiting to in St Stephens Hall, Feb 1908
Women waiting to be " fetched" in St Stephens Hall, guarded by policemen, as a result of concerns over the actions of the Suffragettes in the House of Commons. Under the new " stringent" regulations no woman was allowed into a public lobby unless accompanied by a member of the House and all women would have to wait in the Hall until a man came to vouch for their peaceful intentions and accompany them further. The article describes a " Suffragette Scare in the House of Commons" and remarks on how " the innoccent suffer for the sins of their erring sisters".
