" Mary Astor in Woman Against Woman (1938), in a very simple dinner gown designed by Dolly Tree with a strong peasant influence. Made of lightweight wool crepe, the leaf-green skirt was gathered for fullness and is slightly longer in back, the wrap around belt was of rust and matching green silk crepe. The black wool blouse featured a slit neckline and full sleeves caught tightly above the elbow. The woven chain jewellery was of dull gold. " Date: 1938
