The main lobby at the American Red Cross Club, Rainbow Corner, London
The main lobby at the American Red Cross Club, Rainbow Corner, London, the main base in London for US servicemen. The lobby was the clubs busiest area and comprised of a cashiers desk where soldiers could deposit valuables and exchange money, an enquiries desk and a reception, where a team of receptionists would help men find a bed at one of the other Red Cross centres across the capital. Rainbow Corners slogan was doors that never close though of course, they eventually did in 1946. Date: 1945
