Caricature of the four leading ladies in Black Velvet, a wartime revue produced by George Black at the London Hippodrome. The four featured are Carol Lynne (who married Bernard Delfont), Roma Beaumont (who married producer George Blacks son, Alfred and starred in a number of Novello musicals including Ivor Novellos Perchance to Dream at the Hippodrome), Pat Kirkwood, a brunette beauty who had a successful career and sang the song, My Heart Belongs to Daddy in the show, l and Iris Lockwood, Britains best known model at the time who went on to marry producer and impresario Robert Nesbitt. Date: 1939
