Raine McCorquodale at the Vacani matinee at the Hippodrome
Raine McCorquodale, daughter of the novelist, Barbara Cartland, performing as a canary in the charity matinee held by pupils of Madame Vacanis dancing school at the London Hippodrome in June 1937. The matinee was held in aid of the childrens ward of the South London Womens Hospital. Raine later became Mrs Gerald Legge and then, on her second marriage to Earl Spencer, the stepmother of Diana, Princess of Wales. Date: 1937
