Corby Pole Fair, in Northamptonshire taken place every 20 years on Whit-Monday since 1682, in celebration of the charter granted by Elizabeth I exempting local landowners from bridge tolls throughout the Kingdom. Photograph showing here of a procession with band at the head and organisers leaders seated in chairs attached to poles which are borne on the shoulders of some of the men.
