3210 Servicing Commando RAF Memorial ALG B3
The RAF Commando Units were trained and organised in a similar way to the Army and Royal Marines Commandos. They accompanied forward Units into battle to maintain the air strips made by the Construction Comapanies, or making usable any German facilities that remained. Commando 3210 was formed in 1942 from personnel of Fighter Command. The plaque is on ALG B3. B3 is claimed to be the The first Landing and Operations ALG...in the Liberation of Europe. Date: 2002
