Marin Sais - Movie star of the silent film era
Marin Sais (1890-1971) - Movie star of the silent film era - starred as The Girl Detective in The Closed Door for Kalem in 1915. She was named after Marin County, the area of California in which she was born. The Kalem Company was an American film studio founded in New York City in 1907 by George Kleine, Samuel Long, and Frank J. Marion. Interestingly, her name is incorrectly spelt as Marie on the card. Date: circa 1915
