Lisbon, Portugal - Casa dos Bicos
Lisbon, Portugal - Casa dos Bicos ( House of the Spikes ) - built in the early 16th century in the Alfama neighbourhood, this building a curious facade of Renaissance and Manueline influence. Fortunately the house just about survived the disastrous 1755 Lisbon Earthquake, although the main facade was destroyed, and the two upper storeys facing the Bacalhoeiros street came down (restored to full height in the 1980s). Date: circa 1920s
