Pantomime artist Will Evans with his children

Will Evans (1866 -1931) was an eccentric comedian who performed in pantomime from a young age, and appeared on the music halls in the 1890s. His most famous solo sketches were Papering A House and Whitewashing A Ceiling. Seen here with his two children at the piano.

Needle Rock, Fishguard, Wales

The Needle Rock at Fishguard, Wales. It is a dolerite stack with a hole through its base, standing 130 feet high. Showing locals rowing a boat through the opening, an activity known as 'threading the needle'.

The Pageant of the Child, Wandsworth, London

Scene from The Pageant of the Child, a set of beautifully staged tableaux produced by the Waifs and Strays Society at Wandsworth Town Hall, London. The tableaux were taken from well known historical pictures and spread over nineteen centuries, and depicted a childs progress through the centuries. Seen here is a tableau entitled Citizens in the Making, to complete the series.
