Wedding of Captain Cunningham Reid and Lady Mary Ashley

The wedding of World War I flying ace, Captain Alec Cunningham-Reid (1895 - 1977) to Hon. Ruth Mary Clarisse Ashley, daughter of multi-millionaire, Lt-Col Wilfred Ashley (1st Baron Mount Temple) and sister of Edwina, Countess Mountbatten. The couple were described as 'England's wealthiest girl and handsomest man'. When the couple divorced in 1940, Alec sued his ex-wife for half her fortune. Great wedding dress! Date: 1927
