Bristol Buckingham B Mk.I KV335. A victim of failure to meet the original specification and the success of Mosquito day raid and night strategic bombing. The vast majority of the Buckinghams produced went straight to storage and/or conversion to transports. The transport conversions were also mostly delivered straight to storage and never flew again, until scrapped after the war. Date: 1944

Photograph of British and Indian machine gunners with a Vickers machine gun, Lewis gun and range-finder, 1917. By the end of 1918 the British had deployed 112, 000 combat troops in the Mesopotamia theatre. The vast majority of the British forces in this campaign were recruited from India. From one of five photograph albums compiled by Lt Kindom. Associated with 134th Coy Machine Gun Corps and 7th Meerut Division, World War One, Mesopotamia (1914-1918). Date: 1918

Dusseldorf Exhibition 1902 was a major national exhibition on an area by the Rhine which covered over 130 acres and had vast numbers of exhibits to showcase German industry. The show site also had three miles of electric railway, and a 'beer restaurant' which would hold 4, 000 people! This picture shows the stand of C. Blumhardt, an engineering firm still in existence today Date: 1902
