Music sheet cover for the Queen of the May Quadrille, composed by the French conductor Louis Antoine Jullien (1812-1860), and dedicated to Mrs Robert Arkwright (the actress Frances Crawford Kemble). An allegorical female figure is depicted to represent the month of May, wearing a pink chiffon dress and with bare feet. She is wearing pink roses in her hair, and holds up a garland of roses with which to crown the lucky girl chosen to be Queen of the May

Cliquot by Frank W Green and J Riviere
Promotional music sheet for Cliquot music hall song of 1870 by Frank W. Green & J. Riviere and sung by the ever-popular Alfred Vance, billed here as The Great Vance'. Illustrated by Alfred Concanen, it shows a very dapper Vance in a red coat and white breeches with a cane and wearing a top hat at a jaunty angle and sporting a waxed moustache, This was one of several songs of the time in praise of particular champagne brands. Date: 1870
